Dr. Kim is a board certified psychiatrist practicing in Pasadena, California. She has over 10 years of experience treating a variety of psychiatric disorders.

Dr. Kim was interested in the field of mental health early on. After college, she studied Human Relations and Family Life Education at McGill University in Canada, where she grew up. She moved to the United States to study medicine at Chicago Medical School. Dr. Kim completed her residency at University of Southern California, where she served as chief resident. Her interests during training included women's mental health, collaborative care, and psychodynamic therapy. As an Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry at USC, she taught medical students and residents. She works as an expert psychiatric consultant for many primary care providers in the nation.

She takes a thorough history and works with her patients to recommend a tailored treatment plan using her expertise in psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. She works collaboratively with PCP, therapist, and family. She treats a wide variety of problems including, but not limited to:

Appointment Types

New Patient Intake Appointment (60 - 75 min): $450 

Follow-up Medication Management (25 minutes): $200 

Weekly/Biweekly Psychotherapy with Med Management (50 min): $250

Health Insurance

Dr. Kim is an "out of network" provider. She does not take insurance and does not bill insurance companies directly. However, she provides a superbill, which may be submitted to your insurance for reimbursement. Patients are encouraged to determine if they are eligible for reimbursement.

What to Expect

After you request a new patient visit, our intake coordinator will reach out to you to get a better understanding of what your concerns and reasons are for seeking psychiatric care. You will be able to ask questions to ensure that you and Dr. Kim will be a good fit. During your first session, Dr. Kim will elicit your symptoms and history to recommend a treatment plan, including medication, labs, and/or therapy.
